Peacock Alley Restaurant was born in Baggot Street, Dublin in 1997, now in its new home, St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape. The brainchild of chef Conrad Gallagher who opened the restaurant at just 23 years old, winning a Michelin star in 1998 at age 24 made him the youngest chef in the world to win a Michelin star at that time, the restaurant went on to earn countless awards in Ireland including chef of the year, restaurant of the year, between 1996 and 2002. Conrad then named the enfant terrible of Irish cuisines went on to trail blaze new Irish cuisine one around the globe, the restaurant famously hosted American presidents, prime ministers, music royalty and hosted the Irish MTV awards, the restaurant was home to the rich and famous over the Celtic Tiger era and was widely praised for changing the food landscape in Ireland after trailblazing a new type of Irish cuisine, over the years awards keep coming including the worlds 15 best restaurants by Condé Nast travel magazine.
